Born and raised in an Italian family, Ms. Angelo has always been surrounded by opera and the arts as far as she can rememeber.
Her passion for opera grew at Muhlenberg College where she graduated with a BA in Theatre Performance in 2001. Since then, she has attended Peabody Conservatory of John’s Hopkins University for Opera Performance under the voice instruction of Steven Rainbolt. There, she performed the roles of Naiad in Ariadne auf Naxos, the Princess in L’enfant et les Sortileges and was a soloist in the Gershwin Review with the Peabody Opera Potpourri as well asa soloist with the Peabody Concert Orchestra.
Ms. Angelo currently studies with the famed Soprano, Diana Reed and has kept up her acting chops performing in Community Theater shows in Buckingham, PA and Hamilton, NJ for the past few years. Melissa is a classically trained opera singer for well over a decade with roles like Musetta from La Boheme, Liu from Turandot, and Violetta from La Traviata in process. She hopes to continue performing as a career and dedicates all her performances to her late Grandfather.
